Expedition: Art is designed to introduce students in head start through second grade to art and to the museum.  The program consists of a brief tour of the permanent collection (30-45 minutes), a story or critical-thinking activity (15 minutes) and an art project (30 minutes).   

This program is individually tailored to meet the needs of the visiting group.  Teachers are invited to suggest an emphasis for the permanent collection tour (Egyptian, Medieval, Renaissance).  Teachers may also inform the educator of applicable areas of study (for example:  shapes, color, counting, etc.).

The fee for Expedition: Art is only $1.50 per student age 5 and under and $3 per student age 6 and up.  One adult sponsor per every 10 children is admitted free; additional adults should pay the $4 adult group rate.
