Traveling Treasure Troves
The MGMoA has three different Traveling Treasure Troves. These are wonderful tools for educators (school and home school) to utilize in enhancing their students' learning experiences. It is also a great way to prepare for a field trip to the MGMoA!
Treasure Troves are available free of charge for a two week period. The trove will be mailed to you or you may make arrangements to pick it up. You are responsible for returning it to the museum (including any applicable shipping expenses and the required insurance).
Tu Tu's Travel Trove (Ancient Egypt)
This trove is the perfect companion for enhancing studies of ancient Egypt. It includes a video, audio CD, games, books, colorful pictures, posters, time line, and a teacher's activity guide. Appropriate for K-6th grade.
Classical World Travel Trove (Ancient Greece and Rome)
Students studying ancient Greece and Rome will enjoy having thier studies enhanced by the treasures in this trove! It includes two DVDs on ancient Greece and Rome, ancient Greek music on CD, readings of Greek mythology on CD, four posters concerning Greek/Roman mythology, an ancient game, activity guides and many books. Appropriate for 3rd-6th grades.
Timeless Expressions: Portrait Treasure Trove
This trove is great for students interested in drawing faces and people. It gives an overview of the history of portraiture and some of the artworks from the museum's permanent collection. This trove includes a portrait memory game, books, workbooks, video, time line, and a teacher's activity guide. Appropriate for ages 3rd-8th grades.
