East meets West
Mixed Media Wax Batiks with Beth Wilhelm
Saturday, June 26.
Ages: Open to ages 17+
Skill: Beginner to Advanced
The workshop begins at 10:00 a.m., will break an hour for lunch, and will end at 4:00 p.m. Using the wax batik technique first demonstrated in the Far East hundreds of years ago and a more modern, western application of collage and mixed media methods, students will create amazing abstract artworks. The batik works take on a new dimension with the addition of gold leaf, special tissue papers, watercolor inks, and paint.
Students may choose to create a diptych or two individual paintings. Please specify your choice when you register.
