December 9, 2011 – January 22, 2012
The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is pleased to present an excellent selection of original woodcuts, engravings and etchings from the 1400’s through 1600’s depicting the events surrounding the birth of Christ. This exhibition includes etchings from many famous printmakers including Albrecht Dürer and Rembrandt, and includes prints from artists that are better known as painter, including Peter Paul Rubens and Annibale Carracci. This holiday collection is on loan from Emile Mathis of the Mathis Gallery & Conservation Framing of Racine, Wisconsin.
