Speak! Children's Book Illustrators Brag About Their Dogs
May 1 - June 14, 2009
A special exhibition Speak! Children’s Book Illustrators Brag About Their Dogs will be on display at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art from May 1 – June 14. The exhibition features 30 original illustrations by internationally acclaimed children’s book illustrators who all brag about their favorite canine companions past and present. Speak! was developed by the Mazza Museum at Findley University in Ohio, which features the work of world renowned children’s book artists. The exhibit illustrates lessons about life, companionship and “man’s best friend.”
The public can visit the exhibition Tuesdays through Sundays during the run of the exhibit.
Furthermore, on Saturday, May 16th from 1 to 4 p.m., well-supervised, dog-and-people-friendly dogs and their human families can enjoy a doggone-good time at Gone to the Dogs: A Canine Carnival. Admission is free. Activities at the carnival include a pooch parade, a blessing of the pets, hot-dog bobbing, paw painting, and more!
