The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art has a strong history of support from Volunteers. Volunteers work in nearly every capacity--providing services to visitors and assistance to the professional staff behind the scenes.
Being a Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art Volunteer enriches the lives of all those involved. There is no cost to volunteer, but there are many rewards!
Volunteer Activity Areas:
Work with the organization and facilitation of museum events, including Arts Trek, the Gala, Off the Wall, and other events and fundraisers. Activities include serving on planning committees and assisting with event preparation to lending a helping hand at the events.
Assist the Curator of Education in the educational & outreach efforts for museum visitors and the community. Activities include: helping organize programs, working at booths/events, working with visiting groups, monitoring visitors, assisting with the preparation of education program materials and supplies, and other like duties. Volunteers interested in giving tours should check out the Docent Program.
Help with the daily functions of the museum. Activities include: assisting with office work including mail outs (stuffing and addressing envelopes--not bulk mail) and filing, assisting with gift shop presentation (dusting, inventory, etc.), washing tablecloths, library inventory and organization, and other miscellaneous activities.
Help wiht the care and maintenance of the museum courtyard garden. Activities include: planting, tending, watering, and other like duties. The museum courtyard garden is managed and underwritten by the Friends of the MGMoA.
There is no cost to volunteer your time at the museum.
However, if you elect to join a volunteer affinity group, such as the Friends of the MGMoA, dues are required.
We need your help! Register as a volunteer to be notified of specific job tasks and activities. It is free to register and free to volunteer! You only need to register once.
By recording your hours you help the museum receive grant funding and help us determine the number of volunteers needed for specific activities. Plus, volunteers who give generously of their time receive special recognition!
