Adult Art Workshops
The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is pleased to offer a variety of art workshops for ages 16 and up. We generally offer 2-4 workshops per year. All of the workshops are taught by experienced art educators and/or professional artists. The classes are most often offered during the weekend and last one full day. Most of the workshops include the necessary supplies; however, in some cases, attendees will need to bring some every-day objects from home (such as tape, hand tools, paper towels, etc.). If they so choose, attendees may bring their own art equipment and supplies (brushes, pastels, etc.).
Past workshops included:
- Pastel Painting with Becky Way
- Watercolor Wax Batik with Beth Wilhelm
- Leather Masks with Patrick Riley
- Gourd Baskets with Tina Bly
- Basket Weaving with Pauline Asbury
Artists interested in teaching a workshop should contact the MGMoA Education Department.

In this workshop, create several finished pieces in varying mediums such as copper, artistic wire, natural stone and glass.
Patti Eayre is a jewelry designer and wire artist native to California who moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma in early 2011. Having attended Humboldt State University's jewelry and metalsmithing program, she has been designing jewelry and wire art since 1992. One-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry with focus on sterling silver, 14k gold fill and natural stone is her passion.
