Creating Art Composition with Paper 

Instructor: Jude Delaney

Using the paintings in the MGMoA's collection as a reference, students will study the basic principles of art composition working with cut paper designs. The composition will be both abstract and representational. Students will cut out shapes from various papers to create works of art. 

Tuesdays, September 10, 17, 24 and October 1, 8

5:15-6:15 pm (ages 7-10)
6:30-7:30 pm (ages 11-18)

Mosaic Landscapes 

Instructor: Debra Christian

Learn how to make mosaics and create landscapes from various shapes. Students will start with an image, and layer up various pieces of colored glass and stones to create their art piece.

Theater for Kids

Theater for Kids ages 7-12

Instructor: Emily Coley

Thursdays, October 24, November 7, 14, 21 and December 5.
(No Classes October 31 & November 28)

5:00 - 6:30 pm (ages 7-12)

Performance Participation Required
Thursday, December 12, 5:00-6:30pm
 

This class will introduce students to basic acting skills and the theatre production process. Students will participate in a variety of acting games and exercises that inspire creativity and teach theatre terminology.
No prerequisite classes or skills required.

Cancelation Policy

The MGMoA relies on confirmed attendance to make important arrangements for classes. Payment must be made to secure your place in class.  Please notify the museum of any cancelation no fewer than 7 days prior to the first day of the class for a refund of tuition fees (less applicable credit card or processing fees). Refunds cannot be made for cancellations initiated after that deadline, or for “no shows,” for any reason.  Class registration may be transferred to another person.  Please, contact the MGMoA education department to make arrangements.

In the extremely rare event that the MGMoA needs to cancel a class without rescheduling, participants will be contacted immediately and given a full refund of tuition for cancelled classes.  The MGMoA will not be held responsible for refunding travel expenses.

Inclement Weather Policy

Classes are cancelled for inclement weather if Shawnee Schools cancels classes or activities or Oklahoma Bapticst University's Green  Campus  closes  or if we are concerned for the safety of our students. In most cases, classes/events will be rescheduled.
