MGMoA Regional Art Exhibit 2009

Doing What We CAN to Help

November 06 2009 - November 22 2009
The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is teaming up with the Salvation Army and regional artists in the fight against hunger. This year, the MGMoA Regional Art Exhibit has taken on a new theme: Doing What We CAN to Help. Artists from Shawnee, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and the surrounding communities are participating by submitting artworks that reference canned foods, including, but not limited to, artworks created on cans or from can materials, or artworks that include representations of cans.

During the run of the exhibit, the museum will waive the admission fee for each visitor donating one canned food item. All of the food items will be given to the Shawnee Salvation Army in time to help feed needy families during the holiday season.

Exhibit Opening: 7:00 p.m.
Friday, November 6, 2009

Come and mingle with the artists and see the creative CAN art. Guests are encouraged to bring canned goods to kick off the food drive.

Exhibit openings are free and open to the public.
