Guided Tour: Connecting with Color

The guided tour focuses on color relationships represented in the museum’s permanent exhibitions and applicable special exhibitions. Students are introduced to the color chart, contrasting color, and more!

Story time: Color Cats or Hailstones and Halibut Bones

Topics and content are modified to be age appropriate for students in Early Childhood – 4th Grade.

Art Activity: Bubble Printing

Students create beautiful prints using bubbles! They blow bubbles in solutions of paint and water, printing the bubble patterns. Extra care is taken to make sure that this activity is safe and sanitary.

Shaving cream printing may be suggested as an alternate art activity for this program.

Visual Thinking Strategies™

Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) is a student-centered discussion method grounded in decades of research and testing. The method uses discussions of art to expand critical thinking skills. Students will use VTS to discuss additional artworks in the gallery.
